  1. I read through your poetry essay 2, and you bring up some very good points. I like how you picked a ghazal poem because it does tie into the theme of your books and Hosseini’s writing. The literary devices that you chose to talk about, diction and rhetorical questions, were both very good devices to focus on. The diction definitely helps the reader understand the underlying meaning of the poem and almost see the betrayal and confusion. The rhetorical questions also enhance the confusion of the poem, which shows the betrayal.
I wish you would have gone into more detail for both of these literary devices because they are both so intriguing and important to the poem. Without the violent and melancholy diction, the reader never would have understood the meaning of the poem, just like without the rhetorical questions, the confusion is not present. I also wish you tied The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns into this poem on a deeper level because there are so many connections. During your presentation, you went into more detail with the parallel of the betrayal between your poems and your books, and I wish you would have done that here as well because it is truly interesting.
